Kurista manor has been first mentioned in the 14th century. The manor with the outbuilding and manor park which passed into possession of von Taube family in 1632 belonged to the forest enterprise during the Soviet times. In 1970 the manor building burned down and was restored again in the 1980-ies. The 80-ies style has genuinely preserved in the current building. Also, some original walls have been cleaned out. The original ice cellar has also been preserved. The building is currently in use as the summer manor, also as the hostel offering accommodation. The good location in Jõgevamaa near the cities of Tartu and Jõgeva favours accommodation activities. The large forests located in the neighbourhood provide an outstanding possibility to use the buildings as hunting manor. The manor park located nearby and the pond of 2000 m2, but not the manor building, are under heritage conservation.
