THE WINDMILL
The windmill was built in the mid-18th century. In 1761, Põltsamaa pastor August Wilhelm Hupel described Adavere Manor as having a brick and lime kiln, one watermill, and one large Dutch-type windmill.
The six-storey limestone Dutch-type windmill was originally plastered. The lower part is high with a square base (first two floors), and the upper part is a truncated cone. In 1979, the windmill was restored and converted into a café: a wooden octagonal gallery on supports was reconstructed, along with the cap, windshaft, and sails. Additional wings were built. Architect: Fredi Tomps; interior architect: K. Roosi.
1st floor: central hall (windmill section), with former kitchen, utility rooms, and WC in the wings; equipped with a lift.
2nd floor: bar area in the center, with hall, lounge, and storage rooms in the wings.
3rd–5th floors: one circular room per floor.
Basement: technical, utility, and storage rooms.
The first and second floors are suitable for catering. The third floor features swings. The fourth and fifth floors previously housed a photo exhibition and viewing platform (in need of renovation).
