One of the oldest manors in Saaremaa has been put up for sale - the presentable Oti Manor!
Oti Manor is the oldest manor in Saaremaa, which was first mentioned in the historical sources in 1309. Old cobblestones nearby, the manor park and church create a special historical atmosphere. Oti Manor was originally the economic manor of the nearby Pöide Order Castle. In German the manor is therefore called Peudehof.
After the Saint George’s Night uprising, which destroyed Pöide fortress in 1343, the manor became the property of von Uexküll noble family, having been in their possession for many centuries. In the 1720s the manor was inherited by the noble family of von Aderkas, who probably erected the one-storeyed main stone building that has survived to this day. The manor house got its current shape in 1850, when it was built longer and the second floor was added to the central part. The construction works were carried out under the direction of the then owner of the manor, Saaremaa land marshal Karl Wilhelm Ottokar von Aderkas, from whom the Estonian name of the manor Oti originates.
The main building of the manor, which was expropriated from von Aderkas in 1919, was later used as apartments, a centre for a machine-tractor station as well as office premises for the Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing Group.
Today, the manor house is suitable for use as a hotel as well as a private home. The house has magnificent fireplaces, spacious dining room, seminar rooms and wood-heated sauna. In addition, it is possible, for example, to build up a basement of the manor as a restaurant and additional space will be also available as a result of the construction of the attic.
The manor complex is located on about 5.3 hectares and occupies two cadastral units - 63401: 001: 0226, 63401: 001: 0358.
